How to play Dicey

1. On your turn, roll five dice. You may re-roll up to twice, holding any dice you like between rolls.
2. Then score the dice in ONE empty category on your card — even if it scores zero.
3. Upper section (Ones–Sixes): sum of matching dice. Score 63+ up here for a +35 bonus.
4. Lower section: Three/Four of a Kind (sum of all dice), Full House (25), Small Straight (30), Large Straight (40), DICEY! — five of a kind (50), and Chance (sum of anything).
5. Extra DICEYs after your first (scored 50) are worth +100 each.
6. When every card is full, highest total wins.

Dicey strategy

The basics that turn knowing the rules into winning games — what to do first, what to keep, what to avoid.

• Chase the big categories early — Dicey (five of a kind), the large straight and four of a kind pay most and need the most luck. Use your early rolls on them.
• The upper section bonus (35 for 63 or more) means three of each number is your target; three 6s are worth more than four 2s.
• Hold pairs and re-roll the rest on your first roll; hold three of a kind and re-roll two on your second.
• Keep Chance for a bad roll late in the game, and put a zero in the category you were least likely to make (usually the 1s or 2s) when you must.
• A small straight in hand should be kept — the odds of finishing a large straight on two more rolls are good.
