Play One! Online Free with Friends
One! is the colour-matching card game everybody knows from Uno, with its own deck, free online for two to six players by link or against the house bots. Match the top card's colour, number or symbol; Skip the next player, Reverse the way round the table, make them Draw Two; put a Wild on anything and name the colour, or a Wild Draw Four when you have nothing of the colour in force. First hand empty scores what everyone else still holds, first to 500 wins. Real-time table chat, no download and no signup.

How to play One!
- The deck has four colours (red, blue, green and violet) of cards numbered 0 to 9, three action cards in every colour (SKIP, REVERSE and DRAW TWO), and black WILD and WILD DRAW FOUR cards. Everybody gets seven cards; the rest is the stock, and its top card starts the pile.
- On your turn put down one card that matches the top card's COLOUR, its NUMBER or its SYMBOL: a red 7 on a red 2 or on a blue 7, a Skip on any Skip. The table shows the colour in force beside the pile.
- SKIP: the next player misses a turn. REVERSE: play turns the other way round the table (with two players it works as a skip). DRAW TWO: the next player takes two cards and misses a turn.
- WILD goes on anything and you name the colour to follow. WILD DRAW FOUR also names the colour and makes the next player take four and miss a turn, but you may only play it when you hold nothing of the colour in force.
- Nothing to play (or rather not)? Draw one card. If it can go down you may play it straight away or keep it; if it cannot, your turn is over. When the stock runs out the pile is shuffled under its top card to make a new one.
- Down to your last card? The table yells ONE! for you: it goes in the notifications and a ONE! badge goes up on your seat. There is nothing to press and no penalty.
- The first hand empty wins the hand and scores everything the others still hold: numbers their face, action cards 20, wilds 50. A Draw Two or Wild Draw Four played as the last card still makes the next player draw first. First to 500 wins (250 in a quick game).
One! strategy
The basics that turn knowing the rules into winning games โ what to do first, what to keep, what to avoid.
- Get rid of the action cards and wilds you do not need early: they score 20 and 50 against you if somebody else goes out.
- Watch the player after you. When they are down to one or two cards, hit them with a Draw Two, a Skip or a Wild Draw Four rather than a number.
- Change to the colour you hold most of. Playing a number that matches on symbol into your long colour leaves the next player hunting.
- Keep a Wild for the end: it goes on anything, so it is the safest last card there is.
- A Reverse is a weapon at a big table: it sends the turn back to the player who just went, away from someone about to go out.
- Watch the ONE! badges. A player on their last card goes out next turn unless the colour changes or they are hit with a draw.
One! FAQ
- How many can play?
- Two to six, seven cards each from one 108-card deck. Bots fill any empty seat.
- What do the action cards do?
- Skip: the next player misses a turn. Reverse: play turns the other way (heads-up it is a skip). Draw Two: the next player takes two and misses a turn. Wild: names the colour. Wild Draw Four: names the colour, and the next player takes four and misses a turn.
- When can I play a Wild Draw Four?
- Only when you hold nothing of the colour in force. The table checks it for you, so there is nothing to challenge.
- Is One! the same as Uno?
- It plays the same way: match the colour, number or symbol, Skip, Reverse, Draw Two, Wild and Wild Draw Four, first hand empty wins. Uno is a trademark of Mattel; One! is our own version with its own deck and art, and is not affiliated with Uno.
- Do I have to yell ONE! myself?
- No. The table yells ONE! for you when you are down to your last card, and everyone sees it on your seat. Nothing to press, no penalty.
- How is it scored?
- The player who goes out scores every card left in the other hands: numbers their face, action cards 20, wilds 50. First to 500 wins, or 250 in a quick game.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Type a name and play โ no signup, no download, nothing to install. Making an account is optional and only exists to keep your stats, nickname and preferences across devices.
- Is it really free?
- Yes, all of it. Every game on Board Game Universe is free to play, with no premium tier holding anything back.
- Can I play on my phone?
- Yes. It runs in a mobile browser on phones and tablets as well as on a desktop โ there is no app to download.
- How do I play with my friends?
- Start a table and send your friends the link. They open it, type a name, and sit down. Moves and table chat happen in real time.
- Can I play against the computer?
- Yes. Add a bot to any table and it plays a proper game โ useful for filling a seat while you wait for a fourth.
