Play Level Ten Online Free with Friends

Level Ten is the rummy everybody climbs at their own pace, the game you may know as Phase 10, with its own deck, free online for two to six players by link or against the house bots. Each hand you try to lay down your level: two sets of three, then a set and a run, up to a set of five and a set of three. Make it and you go up a level next hand; miss it and you try again. Once your level is down, hit any meld on the table to empty your hand. Throw a Skip to make the next player miss a turn. Make level ten with the lowest score to win. Real-time table chat, no download and no signup.

How to play Level Ten

  1. The deck: the numbers 1 to 12 twice in each of four colours (red, blue, green and violet), eight WILDS and four SKIPS. Everybody gets ten cards; the rest is the stock, and its top card starts the discard pile.
  2. Everybody starts on LEVEL 1 and climbs on their own. The ten levels: 1 two sets of 3 · 2 a set of 3 and a run of 4 · 3 a set of 4 and a run of 4 · 4 a run of 7 · 5 a run of 8 · 6 a run of 9 · 7 two sets of 4 · 8 seven cards of one colour · 9 a set of 5 and a set of 2 · 10 a set of 5 and a set of 3. A SET is cards of one number, a RUN is numbers in a row (any colours), and the colours of a set or run do not matter.
  3. On your turn DRAW the top of the stock or the top of the discard pile (a Skip there cannot be taken), then DISCARD one card. In between, if your hand holds your level, LAY IT DOWN: the table finds the way to make it that puts the most cards down, and you press one button. You may put down more than the level asks for.
  4. A WILD stands in for any number or colour. Every meld needs at least one real card. A SKIP cannot go in a meld: discard it and the next player misses a turn (at a table of two, you go again).
  5. Once your level is down you may HIT: put a card from your hand on any meld on the table that it fits, yours or anybody's, the turn you go down included. A run grows at either end up to 12.
  6. The first to empty their hand, by discarding or hitting the last card, ends the hand. Everybody else scores the cards they hold: 1 to 9 are 5 points, 10 to 12 are 10, a Skip 15, a Wild 25. Everybody who made their level goes up one; everybody who did not tries the same level again.
  7. The game ends after the hand in which somebody makes level ten. Of the players who made it, the lowest score wins. Quick game: play the even levels only (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10).

Level Ten FAQ

How many can play?
Two to six, ten cards each from one 108-card deck: the numbers 1 to 12 twice in four colours, eight Wilds and four Skips. Bots fill any empty seat.
What are the ten levels?
1: two sets of three. 2: a set of three and a run of four. 3: a set of four and a run of four. 4: a run of seven. 5: a run of eight. 6: a run of nine. 7: two sets of four. 8: seven cards of one colour. 9: a set of five and a set of two. 10: a set of five and a set of three.
What do Wilds and Skips do?
A Wild stands in for any number or colour in a meld. A Skip, discarded, makes the next player miss their turn. A Skip on the discard pile cannot be picked up.
Is Level Ten the same as Phase 10?
It plays the same way: ten phases of sets, runs and colours, Wilds and Skips, lowest score after the last phase wins. Phase 10 is a trademark of Mattel; Level Ten is our own version with its own deck and art, and is not affiliated with Phase 10.
How is it scored?
When somebody goes out, everyone else scores the cards left in hand: 1 to 9 are 5 points, 10 to 12 are 10, a Skip 15 and a Wild 25. The game ends after the hand in which somebody makes level ten; of those who did, the lowest score wins.
Is there a quicker game?
Yes. Choose Even levels only when you start a table: you play levels 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.
Do I need an account?
No. Type a name and play — no signup, no download, nothing to install. Making an account is optional and only exists to keep your stats, nickname and preferences across devices.
Is it really free?
Yes, all of it. Every game on Board Game Universe is free to play, with no premium tier holding anything back.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. It runs in a mobile browser on phones and tablets as well as on a desktop — there is no app to download.
How do I play with my friends?
Start a table and send your friends the link. They open it, type a name, and sit down. Moves and table chat happen in real time.
Can I play against the computer?
Yes. Add a bot to any table and it plays a proper game — useful for filling a seat while you wait for a fourth.
